At Thimble Creek Farm, we believe that the most meaningful lives are built, not bought. Our 56 acres in Whitefield isn’t just a plot of land; it’s a living project, a family legacy, and the place where we’ve decided to put down deep, intentional roots.
From Vision to “I Do”
Our journey started with a conversation in late fall of 2019, when we approached Joe’s parents about purchasing the land.
By June 2020, we began the massive task of reclaiming a corner of the forest. What was once an overgrown thicket—complete with a dilapidated cabin and an old outhouse—slowly began to transform. We cleared the brush, hand-stacked stone walls, and designed a “secret garden” aisle lined with transplanted hostas.
In February 2021, the farm officially became ours. Just four months later, in June 2021, we were married under a moongate handcrafted by Michelle’s father, celebrating our first official chapter on the land we’d already spent a year nurturing.
Built by Hand, Grown with Heart
We are “do-it-ourselves” people through and through. Every corner of Thimble Creek reflects the hard work we put in together:
– The Tables: Joe built our signature farm tables using wood sawn right here on the property. Today, these tables host gatherings across Maine.
– The Forest: We are currently tending to 400 growing Christmas trees, adding 150 more to the soil every year. In five years, we look forward to welcoming you to find your own centerpiece for the holidays.
– The Harvest: From the early spring maple taps to our expanding homestead garden, we are learning to live in rhythm with the Maine seasons.
Right now, we are in the middle of our most personal build yet: our forever home. We’ve set our sights on moving in by 2027, and every day brings us a step closer to living on the land full-time. In August 2026, we will be using a local Amish family to build the shell of our home and then we will take over the finishing touches.
Our vision for Thimble Creek is ever-blooming. Soon, the property will include:
– The Flower Field: A sanctuary for heirloom blooms where Michelle will host garden tea parties and share our own farm-blended teas.
– The Sap House & Event Barn: Permanent spaces to gather, celebrate, and witness the magic of this beautiful piece of Central Maine.
